Mercado Urbano Tobalaba (MUT), developed and operated by Territoria, was selected among the top 10 urban projects in the Americas by the Urban Land Institute (ULI) in its 2025 ULI Americas Awards for Excellence.

This recognition acknowledges the collective work carried out with many individuals and organizations to ensure that MUT is not just a building, but a place integrated into the city—open to its surrounding neighborhoods and designed for the everyday lives of those who inhabit and visit it.

MUT was the only Latin American project to receive this distinction in this edition. The jury, composed of international urban development experts, highlighted aspects such as sustainability, integration with the surrounding environment, project viability, and contribution to the community.

“This award is important to us not only for what it represents, but because it confirms something we have believed in for years: that urban projects can play an active role in improving life in the city,” said Ignacio Salazar, CEO of Territoria.

What is the Urban Land Institute?

ULI is an international non-profit organization with more than 45,000 members worldwide. It promotes best practices in urban development, with a focus on sustainability, planning, and social impact. Each year, it recognizes projects that stand out not only for their design, but also for their execution and tangible contribution to cities.

No man is an island. We are a species that depend on each other. We are united by invisible bonds. Not just the bonds between people, but also with our surroundings and ecosystems.
